I was born in Cuba in 1971, on the stage of a family of artists who founded one of the most prominent Cuban theatre companies for children and young people: “El Grupo de Teatro Guiñol de Remedios” (Remedios Puppet Theatre Group). There I grew up, playing backstage among the backdrops, tableaux and props, watching and learning how magic was made from behind the scenes, from the magicians' point of view, while sometimes also letting myself be taken in so I could enjoy it just like any other spectator. Over and over again, the same stories I saw repeated to exhaustion during daily rehearsals.

There I got to know puppets, which were, in times of scarcity, magical, stimulating toys, and at the age of nine I told my first story in front of an audience through one of them. I learned to build them and to give them a human spirit, and since then they have been an inseparable part of my life.

I have always felt the need to tell stories. I try, via the emotions, to use all the tools I have and all those I can obtain in order to ensure the stories reach their destination and remain there as long as they possibly can.

Since 1998 I have lived on the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands, where as an actor and storyteller I have worked in practically all the theatres and most of the schools and libraries on the islands.
