Caxoto

CAXOTO is the person behind the counter at A TRASTENDA DOS CONTOS (The back room for stories) and he has always been linked to the stage, whether through theatre, dance or music.

As soon as he heard that Editorial Kalandraka was looking for a warehouse worker, he did not hesitate to apply. A few months later he was offered a training course in oral storytelling and when he finished he was offered the chance to take charge of reading promotion campaigns in schools all over Galicia. That was in 2003.

After all these years of work and training, Caxoto's storytelling is nowadays defined as intense, emotional, rhetorical, full of twists and turns, and almost always comical if not slapstick. Caxoto tells stories face to face, with no false voices or taboo subjects. His storytelling is a dialogue with the audience; a forum in which he never stops playing. If we then add a boundless imagination and a capacity for improvisation, the result is shows in which each performance breaks new ground.

IN TRANSIT:

Caxoto has been around Galicia several times and since 2019 (pandemic permitting) he has been exploring other territories, other audiences and other languages.
