Before telling stories..I acted them out.

I have come from the theatre, anthropological theatre; telling stories from the indigenous peoples of Latin America, for children.

I grew up in winters filled with rain and words, surrounded by the marvellous universes that can be drawn using stories, poetry, the read or spoken word. The fact is that when you live in the south of Chile and a storm cuts off the power...stories provide the light and scare away fear.

I am a stage narrator or raconteur or storyteller, as you wish, but I tell stories...and I have been doing this professionally since 2009, when I arrived in Madrid. I went to live in the dream house of a storyteller. La Casa de los Libros...And there Lili CuentaCuentos was born, my character, who for five years has been selecting stories to share with children and their families in this enormous bookshop located on Gran Vía in Madrid. From there I set off with my case full of books and tell stories in schools, libraries, children's education centres and parks, for children, babies, and their families.

I particularly enjoy telling stories to babies. Following in the footsteps of the French woman Marie Bonnafé, I was part of Teresa Corchete's team which began activities with families and babies in "La Nube", Casa del Lector, Matadero-Madrid. And through a love of stories and knowledge I have a Masters in Children's and Youth's Literature from the University of Castilla-La Mancha.,

I am happy telling stories. With objects, without objects, puppets, songs, rhymes... or whispered. I believe deeply in the value of narration, in the wonderful universe that a story can awaken in the listener.

That is why I tell stories.
